DB2/ SQL Technical Resource - Contract
Need an expert on DB2 to create and maintain data connections to multiple
bank products and sources. Also, a hybrid that can write and execute SQL
queries and standard process. Desire to bring experience to the table and
learn a new application and integrate with the team. Strong conviction to
change control and code standards.
This would be located on the North Shore
LDAP within DB2, access and privileges
SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) experience is important.
Working with Portability, Access Control and Patches and configurations
Tuning and Optimization
The SQL Developer will maintain existing solutions as well as contribute to
new projects. The position will work with the infrastructure team to ensure
database availability and performance. This position requires a candidate
with an effective combination of technical and business analysis skills.
Major tasks, responsibilities and key accountabilities:
* The SQL Developer will join a small team that is responsible for all
things SQL. You will need strong knowledge of MSSQL Server, T-SQL, Stored
Procedures, Triggers, Views, Execution Plans, and SQL Server Profiler.
* Experience developing BI solutions within a Microsoft SQL Server
SSRS.
* Creates custom queries to extract data from enterprise databases and
other data sources.
* Maintain and improve existing ETL solutions from IBM DB2 to SQL
Server.
* Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex and
challenging problems in an efficient, maintainable, and flexible way.
* Able to troubleshoot database performance and service outages.
* Proficient in SQL Server 2008 R2 through 2014.
* Provides ad-hoc research and analytical support to business users.
* Participate in an on call, after-hours support rotation.
* All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
* BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business,
Mathematics, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
* A minimum of 2 years of related experience.
* Project management experience is required.
* This position will entail frequent contact with representatives of
multiple business functions, so strong communication skills are a must.
Must be a self-motivated person with strong interpersonal and organizational
skills
