Job Description :
The focus on this project is the encryption of corporate databases. As a Senior Database Analyst, you will be responsible for the encryption and support of IBM DB2, CA IDMS, and IBM IMS on an IBM Z System Mainframe running the z/Operating System, z/OS. You will ensure applications have highly responsive access to data while maintaining data stability, integrity, and security. This position is required to maintain the continuity of database software levels with applicable maintenance in accordance with active service provision by software vendors.



Responsibilities

· Encryption of DB2 and IMS databases

· Performance database monitoring and tuning

· Ensure data is appropriately protected via database backup and related disaster recovery strategies

· Load, or assist in loading, database software, including the encryption of assigned databases

· Evaluation and selection of infrastructure components, and operational support for the database to ensure data integrity, database availability, and performance

· Provide resolutions to technical problems

· Assist in establishing short/long-range planning for hardware and software changes, additions, and configurations

· May serve as a project lead for database software acquisition and upgrades



Requirements

· A minimum of 10 years working as a DBA with DB2, IMS, IDMS, and Mainframe Systems Programming experience within an IBM z/OS environment

· Must have experience doing database encryption with the IBM suite of products

· Must have some experience with the BMC suite of tools for database utilities

· Must have expert experience of monitoring, tuning, and database design standards

· Project management skills

· Operations and Mainframe application skills on IBM z/OS Mainframes

· Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology or equivalent work experience



Must Have

· Heavy DB2 DBA experience

· Experience with DB2 database encryption

· Experience with the BMC suite of DB2 utilities
