Barrister Global Services Network Inc. is currently looking for a motivated, highly detailed, organized and outgoing individual to support one of our major nationwide clients. The successful applicant should be able to quickly adapt their knowledge to the current IT environment and be able to enhance the current systems in place. They should also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills so as to be understood by technical and non-technical personnel.

Job Summary :

Senior software engineer responsible for full life cycle development of software that supports a data analytics layer within a proprietary third party tech stack. You will be part of a team with differing technical skills to service this tech stack. Collectively the team will be implementing new features as well as performing ongoing maintenance. You must be comfortable with Agile development and a generally fast paced and demanding environment.

Essential Job Functions:
Lead and participate in the design and implementation of large and/or architecturally significant applications
Mentor team members in web development principles, patterns, processes, and practices
Build partnerships across application, business and infrastructure teams
Communicate effectively with both business and technical audiences
Document designs and specifications
Implement solutions that can solve common problems
Research relevant technology trends and recognize trends that are relevant to the retail industry
Participate in off-hours on-call rotation (24x7)


Requirements :
7+ years of C++ with multi-threaded applications;
Strong experience with STD;
Good competency with memory management.
Should be comfortable developing on Linux.
Familiar with GCC and makefiles.
Strong data skills
Strong experience with SQL.
You must be comfortable working with, managing, and manipulating large data
sets.
Ability to learn on the job with little documentation.
You must be able to work independently with little supervision



Preferred :
R and Python skills
Also desirable if you have past software/data experience in the domain: retail/grocery.
