Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager of Estimating, the Construction Estimator coordinates the complete bidding process for multiple projects, simultaneously. Following the company bid procedures, the Construction Estimator prepares bid packages, deliverable formats, cost code prep and follow up with the appropriate Division Manager and company staff members.

Duties – Responsibilities:
Review project plans and specifications thoroughly.
Establish timetable for bid preparation.
Manage several bids at same time and meet all deadlines.
Manage and or participate in buy outs of material suppliers and subcontractors.
Create preliminary order of magnitude estimates with initial information.
Coordinate value engineering ideas.
Prepare written technical proposals with appropriate staff as requested in bid documents.
Manage the development of cost history database so that data may be used in future bids.
Mange the maintenance of subcontractor and vendor databases.
Some travel (estimated less than 20%) required to visit bid sites. All sites are visited prior to submitting a bid.

Experience:
3-10 years’ experience in a civil construction work environment is required
Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing projects greater than $2.5 million dollars.
Direct experience with diversified work scopes performed including land clearing, underground utilities, civil and environmental.
High skill level with all MS Office products.
Demonstrable skills in estimating software systems including CLI, Microsoft Project and Insite earthwork.

Education:
College degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Environmental Engineering is preferred but not required.
Construction project experience in estimating the various work scopes described above is extremely advantageous
