Overview
St. Jude is looking for a Computational Engineer who wants to help solve St. Jude research problems for the discovery and translation of biomedical knowledge into therapeutic treatments and cures for pediatric illness. The Computational Engineer will develop, port, debug, optimize, and apply computational methods, algorithms, and applications including interactive data-driven visualization tools for solving complex research problems in basic science and translational biomedical researchamp;nbsp;Working with the St. Jude Research community and the High Performance Computing Facility (HPCF), the Computational Engineer will also implement and support scientific application systems and data processing pipelines using research computing (e.g., HPC Linux Clusters, Machine Learning/AI Platform, Application Container VMs, GPUs and special-purpose computing servers, etc and large-scale storage (GPFS) resources in HPCF in support of St. Jude basic science and translational research programs.
Minimum Education

Master''s Degree in Computational Science, Computational Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field is required. A Doctorate in Computational Science, Computational Mathematics, Computer Engineering or Computer Science with experience in high performance computing, image processing and/or scientific visualization is preferred

Minimum Experience

Two (2) years of scientific computing and/or algorithm/application development experience in a scientific research environment is required. Previous experience with parallel software development in a high performance computing environment is preferred
Compensated internship and/or research assistantship experience in high performance computing, image processing, scientific programming and/or computational algorithm/methodology development during Master''s degree and/or Doctorate program will be counted toward required experience

Other Credentials

Registration, certification (or equivalent) in area of specialty preferred
