Collections Specialist
This position works under general supervision and is responsible for collection in various stages of delinquency and handling accounts by providing assistance to customers. Negotiates acceptable payment arrangements with delinquent customers in order to resolve the issue. Follows operational and policy guidelines to successfully resolve a customer''s delinquency.

Reviews and analyzes financial situations and arranges repayment programs within procedural criteria.
Adjusts fees and charges in accordance with company policy.
Assists with training Collector I employees as directed to develop collection skills.
Participates in training sessions and is able to apply feedback given to improve job performance.
Participates in team meetings and activities and encourages a positive workplace environment.

Customers / Stakeholders

Communicates with delinquent or over-limit cardholders to obtain payments on credit card accounts, following established Call Model requirements.
Responds to written and electronic correspondence from current or delinquent cardholders who communicate financial difficulties.
Contacts creditors, employers, and public sources of information to obtain customer location to collect delinquent accounts.

Leadership & Teamwork
As assigned, assists Unit Manager with duties not directly related to salary or disciplinary actions, such as facilitating contests or team meetings and performing account review functions.
Complete other responsibilities, as assigned.

Management of Risk

Ensure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HClient or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues.

Observation of Internal Controls
Maintains HClient internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.

Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent.
May require overtime and schedule adjustments based on business need.
Good verbal communication and negotiation skills
Proficient use of computer based programs in a fast paced environment.
