Title: Cognos Developer

Summary
The Information Technology Services (ITS) is a central division of the University System of Georgia (USG The USG is comprised of 28 higher education institutions 28 institutions enroll over 315,000 students each fall.
The intermediate Cognos developer position will contribute about 70% of their time to a Cognos self-service report development and 30% to operational report development. USG is upgrading Cognos from 10.2.2 to Cognos Analytics v11. The position reports to the Director of Business Intelligence.
Job Description
Cognos self-service report and dashboard development – 70%
Develop self-service reports against USG data warehouse in Cognos 10.2.2 for the research and policy office of USG
Once the developed reports are migrated from Cognos 10 to Cognos Analytics v11, fix report issues in Cognos Analytics v11 if there is any so that these reports can run successfully in Cognos Analytics v11 environment
Assist internal analysts with development issues related to Report Studio report development
Recommend technical solutions for USG by Numbers public dashboards project (active report? Dashboard? Report Studio
Develop USG by Numbers public dashboards in areas of Enrollment, Graduation Rate, Retention Rate and Degree Conferred based on the business requirement
Operational Cognos report development – 30%
Develop operational Cognos reports to support data collections
Enhance the existing Cognos reports based on business requirement
Assist in deployments and migration validations
Assist with Motio setup and config of building and automating test suites and assertions
Qualifications
Expert level for IBM Cognos 10 and Cognos Analytics v11
Experience with Cognos upgrade from 10 to v11
Familiar with Cognos Analytics v11 new functionalities, like dashboard
Extensive experience with Report Studio in Cognos 10 and 11
Familiar with cube concept, design and best practice in Cognos 11
Skillful in Oracle database
Familiar with dimensional database structure, like star schema design
Strong data analysis and problem solving skills
Strong communication skills
Higher education working experience strongly preferred.
