Title: Cognos BI Developer
Duration: 14 months
Location: Starkville, MS
JOB DESCRIPTION : Contractor will assist an existing team with the completion of a data warehouse and business intelligence project.
Responsibilities will include:
Data visualization – Design, create, and modify complex Cognos reports and dashboards involving highly customized components to support business requirements Database management – Write, test, and modify complex queries that run efficiently Support Business Analysts - Understand business needs and help define requirements for reporting solutions Proactive and diligent in identifying and communicating scope, design, development issues and recommending potential solutions Should be able to work independently in a fairly autonomous environment
REQUIREMENTS & Mandatory:
At least 6 years of demonstrated experience working with Cognos
At least 6 years of demonstrated experience building reports, dashboards, and active reports using Cognos (at least 3 years with version 11.x)
At least 6 years of demonstrated experience with Cognos BI and framework manager (at least 3 years with version 11.x)
At least 5 years of demonstrated experience with Cognos dynamic cubes
At least 6 years of demonstrated experience in dimensional modeling and OLAP technologies
At least 6 years of demonstrated experience developing customized JavaScript controls in Cognos (at least 3 years with version 11.x, including extensive experience using the prompt API and jQuery)
At least 3 years of demonstrated experience building reports in Cognos with both dimensional and relational models
At least 3 years of demonstrated experience implementing performance improvements using the Dynamic Query Analyzer
At least 3 years of demonstrated experience with Pentaho Data Integration (Kettle)
At least 6 years of demonstrated experience writing and optimizing SQL scripts
At least 3 years of demonstrated experience in developing test cases for applications
At least 6 years of demonstrated experience working with Linux
At least 6 years of demonstrated experience working with IBM DB2 v10.x
At least 3 years of demonstrated experience working with automated data refresh processes
PREFERRED:
Preference given to candidates with the below skills/experience. Must also meet minimum requirements.
Preference will be given to candidates having at least 5 years of experience with Pentaho and Pentaho Data Integration (Kettle) and can demonstrate an advanced understanding of JavaScript and data warehouse concepts
