Title : Cobol Programmer (3 positions Healthcare Domain exp is highly preferred.

Experience : 10 years exp.

Location : Reston, VA

Interview : Phone + F2F must. No skype.

$70/hr C2C or 1099

Job description:
Activities, Tasks & Deliverables Include
Support, Troubleshooting and Integration of new code development into existing systems
Provide initial support for application issues and escalate and coordinate issues with the project Scrum teams. Work closely with Pega (Rules Engine) and Cobol Development and Integration specialists
Integration of Production JAVA changes back into all project environments
Support for Pilot Plan integration and general issues resolution
Review, update and test application software code
Support the changes & analysis that are needed for support/maintenance & code synchronization
Integration Support for developed software
Create and update Production system turn-over documentation
Analyze and provide recommendation to improve, create or eliminate process and/or procedures currently being used or followed by the development team
Support testing teams and Plans in the project environments
Analyze database changes for application operational efficiency

Required Skills
BA/BS in Computer Science or similar discipline
Eight (8+) plus years mainframe-based application development experience
Must have a demonstrated background in the following:
- COBOL applications running under CICS
- COBOL applications with DB2 RDBMS
- Reading, writing and troubleshooting JCL
- Ability to read and understand complex COBOL, CICS DB2 Coding environments
- Integration of new code into an existing environment
- Support for Production and Pilot environments
- Testing and Troubleshooting both production and new code

Development Experience on one or more of the following is a plus but not required:
- Exposure to Pega and Java Development Environment
- Exposure and experience with IBM MQ is a BIG PLUS
- Alternative Rules Engine
- Alternative Claims Processing platform
- REXX, Rocket Shuttle, Xpediter, General IBM Utilities, ChangeMan, FileAid, SyncSort and MS Office for documentation
