Cobol Developer/Mainframe developers
Omaha, NE
Duration: 6-month contracts with the potential for extensions or conversion to direct hire.

Must be US Citizen or Green card because they’d be working on a US Treasury legacy project.

You''ll have the opportunity to develop and update software applications using COBOL and applicable utilities for the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS) on the IBM 3270 mainframe. Prior exposure to passing data from the mainframe to the web/internet/front-end will be needed.

FUNCTIONS:
- Follow the SDLC process for project approved by our federal government client.
- Perform Analysis, High Level/Detail Level Design, Code, Unit/String Test, and support QA testing and production implementation.
- Update all required documentation.
- Follow guidance from Project Management Office team and directions from manager and team technical leads.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience as an IBM 3270 mainframe COBOL developer / application analyst.
- Experience with CICS, JCL, TSO and DB2 database development.
– Prior web, internet, front-end experience required.
- Prior EFTPS experience is a plus.
- Ability to work in a team environment is necessary.
- Ability to engage within the team and attend development meetings with team leads and other project teams.
- IBM Rational Developer for z Systems (IBM RDz) Integrated Development Environment is desired.
- Experience or familiarity with web services and APIs in the mainframe environment is also desired.
