Job Description :
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a contributor to a team of IT professionals focused on big data technology, day-to-day operational support, technical project delivery and communication of results to leadership
Provide expertise within the environment using technologies such as Hadoop, Cloudera Manager, kerberos, cluster/queue management, HDFS and LDAP
Develop reporting metrics on the platform.
Perform Cloudera upgrades
Perform cluster maintenance
Implement & validate additions to the technology stack
Monitor jobs, queues, and HDFS capacity
Monitor cluster connectivity and security
Manage and review Hadoop log files.
Manage and maintain security access
Point of Contact for Vendor escalation
Partner with leadership to apply continuous improvements to BSC’s winning Big Data strategy
Develop and maintain a strong relationship with IS partners, and software vendors
Deliver Big Data programs in a regulated environment
Ensure Big Data deliverables meet or exceed service-level expectations for quality, timeliness, performance and budget
Work collaboratively, effectively, and efficiently with stakeholders to ensure alignment and prioritization of goals and resources across multiple stakeholders, project priorities, and organizational initiatives

Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field required
Strong understanding of Hadoop, BI, ETL and data warehousing (Certified Hadoop Admin preferred)
Experience required in administering multiple UNIX environments
Experience preferred in administering one or more Hadoop clusters
Experience and familiarity with Kerberos security enabling in Hadoop cluster services
Experience with a range of Big Data architectures, including Hadoop, Cloudera, Spark, Pig, Hive, HBase, Kafka, Kudu and other Big Data technologies
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work in a fast paced, self-directed, action-oriented environment
Excellent interpersonal communication skills including oral, written, and listening skills
Experience in life science industry is highly beneficial
Proven understanding of software development and operations methodologies
