Job Description:
Drive the Solution and Information Architecture for a strategically important program for Pharmacovigilance:
o Integration architecture (including any new integration pattern(s for a newly developed solution to drive all business processes for a modern pharmacovigilance organization. Integrations from this solution might include but are not limited to Signal Sign On system, design of the connection to the vendor’s cloud, Medidata Safety Gateway, Cloud-to-Cloud integrations (e.g. other solutions in AWS environment), high volume data transfer, various reporting and analytics systems, including a Business Object, hosted in AWS etc.
o Develop multiple transition architectures and roadmap for 4 Phases of the program
o Information architecture with data flows from and to vendor solution and back to including storage, access and data transformation considerations
Deliverables include but are not limited to developing the conceptual and logical architecture documents for the above described project to satisfy business requirements, which includes the conceptual and logical solution and information architecture, document security architecture and encryption requirements, data flows through systems, create business interaction diagrams and architectural constraints etc.
Conduct Architecture Reviews as part of the SDLC process and gain stakeholders approval of the architecture
Conduct and/or participate in interviews to gather requirements that need to be satisfied by the architectures to be developed
Work with 3rd party architects and technical leads to understand the scopes and architectures of the 3rd party products and integration requirements.
Work with IT resources such as Integration Services (RESTful or other), Master Data Management, Infrastructure and Security, etc. to ensure compliance to standards and strategy
Architect will work closely with project team including integration developers to design and implement solutions that meet business needs
Ensure the solution (including information & integration) architecture is being implemented as planned on the end by working with the Tech Lead(s) -e.g. AWS, Medidata, Data Lake, Security, Identify and Access Management, Middleware
Identify and communicate architectural risk and issues and provide mitigations.
Contribute to solution cost estimating activities

Required Skills/Experience:
10 years of experience in architecting and deploying/integrating large scale, complex business applications, 5 years in a formal Solution Architect role.
Functional experience in Biopharma Pharmacovigilance is preferred.
Understanding of Drug Safety/Health industry standard interfaces and protocols is strongly preferred (e.g. E2B, HL7)
Experience with integrating ARISg software is a plus.
Experience with one of more architecture framework (e.g. TOGAF) is a plus.
Understanding of architectural principles, patterns & methods related (but not limited) to Web, Databases, Service-Oriented Architectures, Middleware and other integration technologies
Experience with Enterprise Application Integration architectures.
Functional and Technical experience in architecting and implementing API based service frameworks
Ability to perform activities related to information architecture such as designing conceptual and logical information architecture, capture current state data flows and design future state data flows/data transformations based on business requirements
Ability to establish and adhere to technical standards as well as ability to compromise when appropriate.
Ability to identify and communicate architecture risks, issues, trade off and escalate appropriately.
Ability to facilitate architecture reviews and gain stakeholders’ approval.
Ability to translate complex business and technical problems into easily understood solution approaches.
Project management of solution and information architecture related activities: estimation, planning, controlling and execution.
Understanding of SDLC processes
Strong collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be adaptable and able to work in a matrixed environment
Proven leadership skills, particularly with providing architectural direction as it relates to application deployment/development and integrations
Detail-Oriented: able to consider the details of a technical design and ensure its alignment with solution and information architecture

BS/BA degree required
Minimum 10 yrs of experience of architecting, developing/deploying large scale systems – at least 5 of these years in a formal solution architect role
Extensive experience in data and application integration
Familiarity and understanding of business processes, applications and solutions in Biopharma Pharmacovigilance
Experience with ARISg
Strong collaboration and communication skills.
