You will be responsible for analyzing and migrating clients’ applications to cloud infrastructure
Job Responsibilities:
Understand the existing application & infrastructure environment of the customers
Analyze the applications using manual & automated approaches
Create a cloud migration roadmap and create cloud deployment architecture for the applications
Perform migration of applications onto the target cloud environment, using tools to automate migration
Identify appropriate strategies to integrate cloud-hosted applications and on-premises systems as part of cloud assessment/architecture/migration phases
Ensure that the cloud assessment and migration take into account all required non-functional aspects of the applications, such as security, performance, scalability, legal compliance etc.
Work with the client stakeholders so that the cloud migrations are planned, performed, tested and signed off
Work with cloud assessment and migration tool partners to understand the tool capabilities and also ensure that the tools are effectively used in the assessment & migration
Overall Experience
Total IT experience of 10 +years or more with many years as an application/solution architect
Past experience in application architecture / solution architecture and ability to understand how current application architecture translates to cloud deployment architecture
Good knowledge and experience in the infrastructure space, such as firewalls, routers, load balancers, application proxies etc.
Azure-Specific Experience
Cloud experience of 4+ years, of which, at least 3 years of experience with Azure Cloud Platform, primarily in the IaaS space
Knowledge/experience with PaaS/Managed Services from Azure is highly recommended
Understanding of various Azure VM instance types & cost, and the experience in sizing of the Cloud VMs for hosting applications onto Cloud
Experience in identifying appropriate cloud storage mechanisms for various types of data (transactional data, archival data, confidential data etc, and experience in defining the Cloud storage strategies for various types of data
Experience in implementing security measures on Azure cloud, at different levels (perimeter security, operational security, audits & logging) – Azure VNETs, Network ACLs, Cloud load balancers & App Gateways, Enabling Azure-provided auditing & logging features etc.
Ability to translate client’s specific security requirements into Azure-specific security features
Microsoft Azure certified architect is preferred
