Position: AWS Cloud Engineer
Location: Winston-Salem, NC
Duration: 6 months Contract to Hire

Job Description:
Collaborates with Account Executives, Business Development Consultants, Account Managers, and Systems Engineers to identify and engage select high-potential customers.
Collaborates consultatively with customers and, at times, prospective customers to analyze their strategic business goals and architect Client’s solutions as key components of their overall IT landscape.
Collaborates with Client’s leaders and personnel to facilitate complex, innovative, and often non-standard Client’s solutions.
Lead the execution of tasks on multiple, cross-functional, complex projects.
Help craft technical strategy and focus on customers’ business needs.
Works with customers to identify problem areas and creatively designs solutions to meet customer needs.
Must operate across organizational and computing “silos” to facilitate complex solutions.
Provides industry though-leadership through deep relationships, both within Client’s and within customer organizations.
Oversees the creation of operational documentation including wikis, service menu entries, etc.
Works with Client’s leadership to help align the product roadmap and overall hosting strategy with customer demand.
Works closely with strategic partners to maximize our relationship, which could entail partner training and other activities.
Responsible for maintaining ongoing professional development with minimal guidance in order to provide current and forward-looking consultation to customers.
Meets with key technical thought leaders at Client’s to help shape Client’s strategy and the roadmap.
Works with marketing and product marketing to optimally align our marketing efforts with insights gained in the role.
Presents at trade shows, industry events, and Client’s hosted functions as required.

Skills & Requirements:
Must have advanced to expert level knowledge of AWS, Cloudformation, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Linux, and Windows
Significant number of different technologies on resume with ‘more than beginner’ depth with several technologies (20% or more) at Sr. to Expert level
Successful history of Designing and Developing infrastructure, configuration and deployment automation at large scale/high complexity
Significant experience managing, diagnosing and debugging matrixed problems across multiple Disciplines (app, infrastructure, db, etc
Understands nuances between major public/private clouds and common technologies leveraged in Automation/DevOps world such as Configuration Management:
Ansible vs. Puppet vs. Chef vs. Saltstack, etc.
AWS vs Azure vs. Google vs. VMWare
Can talk through at a decent level of depth on how to build out a module/cookbook/role in their configuration management tool of choice including:
Code Structure
Testing
Deployment usage within a larger set of modules
Working knowledge of multiple clouds & Services, Relational and NoSQL Databases, Caching, Object and Block Storage, Scaling, Load Balancing, CDNs, Networking etc
Excellent working knowledge of the Windows or Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS and Ubuntu) or strong Networking skills. PowerShell / Shell scripting, experience of supporting and troubleshooting issues and performance.
Intermediate understanding of central networking concepts: VLANs, layer2/3 routing, access lists & load balancing
Good understanding of Design of native Cloud applications, Cloud application design patterns and practices

Education/Experience:
High school diploma required.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in information technology or a related field required.
Experience may substitute for a degree requirement at the equivalency of 3 years of experience to 1 year of education.
Kubernetes experience preferred.
Requires a minimum of 10 years of combined technical support experience and pre-sales technical support experience.
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate Level required
