*Job Title: Cloud Capacity Engineer*
*Location: NY/NJ*
*Responsibilities include:*
- *Owning capacity of each IT component of all DPG applications*
- *Determining capacity driver for each of the components*
- *Automating the Data collection and retention for all applications*
- *Creating the business demand to utilization correlation models*
- *Creating the forecast models using data science and machine learning*
- *Consulting the Performance team to ensure we test for future load*
- *Catalyst to drive Wastage management for AWS resources*
- *Preparing & publishing weekly, monthly capacity reports for awareness*
- *Function as a cloud capacity planning expert*
- *Engage with 40+ engineering teams to help understand future capacity
needs and identify optimization opportunities*
- *Understand scale-out software architecture and key measures of
throughput and response time for major applications
- *Write performance and capacity-related tests and analysis tools
- *Automate tools to measure changes in performance as hardware and
applications evolve*
- *Business demand management*
- *Work with application developers to find the best way to scale
infrastructure, characterize transactional throughput and response time,
reduce resource consumption and shorten request latency and understand
roadmaps
- *Work with hardware teams to define architecture and implementation of
cutting edge hardware technologies based on application requirements
- *Own and drive overall MHE capacity planning work for all different
products/services*
- *Review Key Performance Indicators determine ways to improve
operations
- *Support design, development, and implementation of automated
processes for gathering, populating and maintaining capacity and system
utilization data
- *Ability to develop advanced queries and reports for management on
KPIs to improve the process effectiveness, efficiency, and data accuracy
*Job Qualifications:*
- *Deep familiarity with capacity management for large, heterogeneous
workloads*
- *Strong workload and performance analysis skills*
- *Ability to manage large, critical cross-organization programs*
- *Deep understanding of system hardware and network characteristics*
- *Excellent communication and presentation skills with a
customer-focused attitude Winning Qualities:*
- *knowledge in AWS cost model*
- *Experience optimizing compute sharing across batch and online
workload*
*Experience/Requirements*
- *Experience in developing and executing benchmarks, with a focus on
identifying benchmarks + benchmark parameters that are most appropriate*
- *5+ years of Capacity engineering experience*
- *Experience with Python, Java, or C++ in a Linux/UNIX AWS environment*
- *Experience with large system architectures and the curiosity to
understand how major applications and services work*
- *Data science and machine learning experience is a plus*
