Title: Cloud Architect
Location: Pleasanton, California - 5-10% remote and 5% travel
Contract Duration: 2 Years (this contract is at least 2 years, so they’ll need to have a visa that will not expire within that time frame)
Job Summary:
This role is an integral part of the cloud application services team within our clients Information Technology to support cloud transformation. This position is responsible for architecture, design and development of shared cloud platforms.
Cloud architect will be responsible for building automated cloud services and streamlining repeatable process involved in platform deployment. The incumbent will act as the central focal point for building reusable platform services on cloud platforms (BlueMix, Microsoft Azure
Responsibilities:
Evangelizes cloud automation and be a thought leader and expert defining standards for building and maintaining cloud platforms.
Solid understanding and Experience in cloud computing-based services architecture, technical design and implementations including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
Configuration management — Require proficiency in configuration management tools such as Chef/Puppet/Ansible.
Expert knowledge of design, implement, and consume RESTful APIs
Have experience with build-time dependency management (e.g. Ant, Maven); unit testing and code-coverage tools; test automation techniques and tools; and build automation tools (eg Jenkins,)
Automation skills using CLI scripting in any language (Bash, Perl, Python, Ruby, etc
Experience developing shared services like database, caching , messaging in cloud
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science with a minimum 8 years related experience
Expert knowledge in design, implementation, and consumption of RESTful APIs
Expertise in object-oriented design and implementation, developing high performance, reusable components
2-4 years of experience in API development
Microservices and decoupled systems
Strong experience of RDBMS, NoSQL , data streaming, caching , messaging technologies.
Expert level knowledge and experience in platform frameworks and services
Experience with cloud platforms like cloud foundry , openstack.
Cloud networking — solid understanding of cloud networking capabilities, including load balancer as a service (LBaaS
