Role: Collaboration Product Manager
Duration: 6+ Month Contract
Location: Vernon Hills, IL

This person should have Cisco Unified communications experience as well as a little Microsoft collaboration product experience. Great business skills are key.

Role Overview
The Product Manager position involves being responsible for leading the activities surrounding the business analysis, product development, product management, sales enablement and financial success of various product lines while maintaining a high standard of quality and team leadership. This individual will lead financial reporting of certain products and the product line strategic plan, develop P&L objectives, make decisions on pricing and competitive positioning, and work with a cross-functional team to execute the plan. In addition, this person will be the knowledge resource for industry trends, market opportunities; key customer needs and also seek to uncover new growth opportunities.

Key Areas of Responsibility
1. Manage all activities for assigned lines, ensuring profitability and contributing to the maintenance of a high standard of quality. Maintain communications and contacts to collect and analyze technical, financial, schedule, and sales information for product lines
2. Market Analysis
a. Conduct market research to specify user requirements for current and future products
b. Responsible for successful delivery of product releases to the marketplace
c. Maintain product strategy and roadmap, including competitive and market positioning including business plan, sales goals and margins
3. Drive Service development
a. Lead and manage cross-functional collaboration for the development of new products – including project management of such effort
b. Participate in service development efforts including bid assurance and contribute to technical design reviews
c. Drive the roadmap working closely with engineers - including product training
d. Release Management – determine release schedule and productization of solutions to incorporate and communicate new features and functionality.
4. Sales Enablement
a. Enable various cross functional sales teams to sell the service product (including training)
b. Conduct pricing vs. revenue analysis for assigned product lines
c. Address innovative cost reduction solutions for assigned service products, including leading analysis of per-unit pricing and costs for these product lines
d. Ensure reporting and payment of licensing for assigned Managed Services products (working with delegated personnel
5. Customer Relationship management including escalation, consultation of product roadmap / direction, lifecycle

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance,Sales, Information Technology or business related field
Six or more years experience in any combination of the following:
o Product Management
o Services Offering Management
Should have some professional services or Management Services Experience, NOT just software!
o Technical Product Architecture and Development
Experience in Cisco Unified Communications including UC, UCAS, or Hosted Collaboration Solution (HCS)
Experience in building “aaS” offerings and full lifecycle development of products
Knowledge of the UC market and competitive offerings

Preferred Qualifications
Two+ years of business analysis experience
Knowledge of Microsoft Collaboration products also desired
