Checkpoint Security Engineer

Job Description:

Senior Network Security Consultant with a strong background in network security infrastructure design, implementation, and management. A Senior Consultant will spend the majority of time interfacing with customers to gather information, design, plan, and implement network security solutions to help customers manage their network security infrastructure. Time will also be spent in a pre-sales role including but not limited to documenting scopes of works, performing proofs of concept, and presenting to existing and potential customers. Client consultants have a great deal of autonomy, and are expected to be able to manage their time effectively.

Responsibilities include:
Perform installation of network security devices, Checkpoint, Cisco, Bluecoat and RSA.
Accompanying sales team in customer meetings in a consultative pre-sales role
Gathering requirements and advising customers on product and services solutions
Conducting demonstrations, proofs of concept, and presentations to varying levels within a customer organizations
Delivering complex services from pre-sales information gathering and documentation to post-sales assessment, project plan development/management, architectural design and documentation, implementation, and knowledge transfer activities
Providing high-quality documentation of work performed for customers
Coordinating/participating in technical training and product updates with business partners
Building and managing lab environment for customer demos, Poc’s, and project staging/testing

Required Experience:
Primary Skills:
Hands on Check Point and Cisco ASA experience with a deep technical understanding of these two vendors product lines.
Experience with security technologies such as Security and Information Event Management (SIEM), Data Loss Prevention, Authentication, and/or Identity and Access Management is highly desirable but not required
Fundamental understanding of network concepts and protocols such as RIP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, STP, VRRP, WCCP, Load Balancing, and WAN Acceleration, VPN tunnels, MPLS.
Ability to demonstrate and present solid networking and security experience to customers and partners is required
Ability to clearly relay technical knowledge to both technical and non-technical people, written and verbally
Experience in a pre and/or post-sales consulting position is preferred

Secondary Skills:
Working knowledge of Checkpoint’s SmartReporter and Cisco’s Security Manager a plus.
Minimum of 5-7 years enterprise level experience designing, configuring, and managing security infrastructure devices such as firewalls, SSL VPNs, secure web gateways, IPSs, application firewalls, etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication is essential. Written assessments are commonplace in this role.
Ability to create statement of work documents with correct bill of materials.
Ability to work well under pressure and within time constraints
