Contract TO PERM on W2 only (No corp-corp or 1099)

24x7 operation – 1, 2 and 3 shift

Must be willing to work any shift

Looking for a new Change Engineer/Tier III or IV opportunity?, is recruiting for a Change Engineer role for a client in the RTP - North Carolina area. Strong preference for the candidate to be located on the East Coast.

The ideal candidate demonstrates an aptitude and appetite for learning new technologies, evidenced by the ability to expand upon core knowledge. This is a great opportunity for someone with patience and an empathetic view of the customer to hone their skills and advance their career providing value to customers while working with an industry leader in security technology. Provide escalated support to the customer security infrastructure and solution. Provide systems/product training. Acts as a focal point for large account network problem resolution. Acts as a technical expert. Provides support on a world-wide basis.

Excellent understanding of the TCP/IP protocol suite
Working, demonstrated hands-on product and technology skills in several of the following areas (more a plus):
Cisco ASA Firewall family, preferably with 9.x version software
Cisco Identity Services Engine and/or Cisco ACS or leading AAA/NAC technology vendors
Cisco Firepower NGIPS with Firesight, classic Cisco IPS a minimum
Cisco Web Security Appliance or leading Web Proxy vendors
Cisco Email Security Appliance or leading Email Security vendors
Cisco Lancope Cyber Threat Defense Solution or other Netflow analysis tools
Palo Alto, Watchguard, Sonic Wall and other firewall platforms
Cisco Advanced Malware Protection with ThreatGRID or other advanced malware protection products
Working understanding of integrated security features supported by Cisco IOS/-XE Router and Switch platforms
Working understanding of Cisco Site-to-Site and Remote Access VPN Technology flavors
Experience with troubleshooting and investigating device and networking issues methodologies
Experience with trend analysis based on security baselines
Ability to analyze, use and configure small to medium networks

BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or Telecommunications
2-5 years of IT Security Engineering or NOC/SOC environment type experience
CCNP Security certification
Security+ certification
CCNA, CCDP, CCIE Security, CISSP.
Experience and/or certifications on established IT frameworks, including ISO/IEC 27001, COBIT, ITIL a plus

Passion for cybersecurity and staying up-to-date with bleeding-edge products, technologies and architectures
Ability to work with little or no instruction on routine work and on new assignments.
Ability to analyze, use and configure small to medium networks. Proven crisis management skills.
Typically interfaces with security analysts, other Cisco BUs, marketing, development and customer networking engineers. Impact is major.
Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
Applies known solutions to solve problems.
Willingness to learn new security technologies, products, incident analysis and response approaches
Strong collaborative skills and openness to work in a diverse multinational team of security professionals
Ability to present complex technical problems in a clear and structured manner.
