Job Description

Madison College is seeking two (2) highly motivated and capable people to take a leadership role related to defining and documenting business processes related to student life cycle, as well as participating in various testing roles and other relevant activities needed during the project lifecycle. This position will report directly to the CT3 IT Project Director. Administratively, this position will report to the CIO or Applications Director.

This role ideally will require knowledge of technical systems processes, and the ability to document current/future processes, and the ability to communicate those processes to others. This will include communication to those involved with the organizational change management process. There is also the possibility that this individual could also be assigned to other, different, project-related responsibilities as required. Presented applicants are expected to be highly experienced business analysts that communicate extremely well.

The duration of this role is up to 12 months with some possibility of an extension beyond that timeframe.

Background

The CARES Title III Project (CT3 Project) is an initiative to prepare and implement Madison College strategic objectives to migrate to implement Title III goals towards achieving personal education performance outcomes. The goals of the project is to move towards a collaborative enterprise model to help create a 360 view of students through improved collection of data, better analysis, building automated referral triggers, and creating valuable performance measures.

The CT3 Business Analyst is responsible for understanding and documenting the complete Madison College 360 Student Roadmap process. To reach that state, the CT3 Business Analyst will elicit requirements, perform analysis, and communicate information appropriately to the CT3 Steering Team, and to the CT3 Change Management Team. This position will work in fairly equal parts with each of those teams. The CT3 Change Management Team is responsible for maximizing user adoption of the new system within the Madison College user community through communication, training, documentation, and cultural change. This position will also perform other duties as assigned. Later in the project lifecycle, this position will take a larger role in system and business testing, as assigned by the CT3 IT Project Director. There will be opportunities for ambitious individuals in this role to serve in wide range of capacities on multiple teams.

Basic Qualifications

3+ years of experience working in an academic institution
3+ years of experience leading requirement workshops with over 15 people on projects spanning over 2 years.
Experience with +500 functional/technical requirements to help document, organize, trace, and prioritize and to communicate changes to the appropriate stakeholders
Experience creating requirement traceability matrix, workflows diagrams, relationship maps, use cases, context diagrams, and test plans.
3+ years of business process reengineering experience or similar work
Strong business analyst experience is a MUST. This includes a demonstrated full range of business analyst activities (requirements elicitation, analysis, testing, documentation, etc
Experience working on large-scale projects, with strong references.
Understanding how to use PeopleSoft Campus Solutions is a strong plus.
Experience with testing, including end-to-end system testing is a plus.
Demonstrated competency in documenting solutions for both technical and functional audiences
Experience with testing, including definition and execution of test plans and scenarios

Duties and Responsibilities

Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs/requirements
Document current and future state of academic development, advising, and integration processes
Participate as a team member to achieve successful business process reengineering.
Act as a liaison to the CT3 Change Management Team to communicate change management implications of CT3 Steering Team discussions and decisions.
Work independently with great team spirit
Take full ownership of and accountability for assigned tasks
Communicate appropriately with varying levels of stakeholders, internal staff, and external staff
Communicate status accurately to management and teams
Work with project team to properly develop and configure a 360-student roadmap solution.

Education and Qualifications

An educational background with a Bachelor’s degree or higher (or 5+ years in a Business Analyst role)

The anticipated duration of this engagement is up to 12 months, with possible extension. The consultant should be prepared to start by April 23, 2018. This position will be on-site at Madison College, and there will be no opportunity for telecommuting.
