IT Infrastructure Implementation and Change:
Research and evaluate the newest messaging and Microsoft authentication technologies; make recommendations to team
Work closely with the Messaging/Active Directory (AD) team to test/configure/deploy new Messaging and AD solutions
Work on new projects/tasks that are presented to the messaging and AD teams
Create PowerShell scripts to streamline and automate processes
Create documentation
Adhere to UCSF defined standards and procedures

IT Infrastructure and Support:
Manage Office 365 Exchange Online and Exchange Hybrid environments
Be the highest level of support for the Messaging/AD team
Troubleshoot complex Messaging and Microsoft authentication issues; work with Microsoft Support as necessary to troubleshoot and resolve issues
Troubleshoot authentication issues related to AD, Web Application Proxy (WAP)/Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), Azure AD (AAD), and AAD Connect
Work with various departments within UCSF such as IT Service Desk, IT Field Services, Messaging, Networking, and customers to troubleshoot complex email client/server issues
Support Public Folders and mail-enabled objects including domain accounts, groups, and contacts
Collaborate with IT Security to work on Incident Response cases; obtain message trace logs, Exchange audit logs, AD/ADFS logs, and any other available messaging logs for IT Security
Administer all messaging related systems including appliances/software such as Barracuda, FireEye EX, Sophos, Cisco Secure Email, F5 LTM, VMware, and any new servers/cloud services/appliances that are introduced into the environment
Process messaging and AD related ServiceNow tickets
Participate in incident and change management processes
Create change requests and attend Change Advisory Board (CAB) to obtain approval for all changes
Work with IT Service Desk to send out communications to end users for changes
Participate in on-call duties and work some evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in support of projects and emergencies

Work collaboratively as a member of the IT Infrastructure Architecture/Engineering and Operations / Messaging team in a cross-functional environment to meet goals on defined schedules; collaborate with other departments, customers and vendors

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
Minimum 10 years of system administration experience with Microsoft Exchange Server
Minimum 3 years of experience administering Office 365 Exchange Online
Minimum 10 years of experience managing Active Directory consisting of a multi-domain forest
Minimum 2 years of experience managing and troubleshooting WAP/ADFS, AAD, and AAD Connect
Minimum 10 years of system administration experience with Microsoft Windows Server
Minimum 5 years of experience configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting Linux servers
Hands-on knowledge of messaging related appliances/software such as Barracuda, Proofpoint, FireEye EX, Sophos, DLP, and Cisco Secure Email
Experience with LISTSERV
Ability to develop advanced PowerShell scripts
Expert level experience with various email clients including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook 2010/2013/2016 for PC, Microsoft Outlook 2011/2016 for Mac, Microsoft Outlook app for mobile devices, and opensource email clients
In-depth understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, WINS setup, configuration, and problem diagnostics of these protocols/services
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with Office 365 services including but not limited to SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Office Online, Teams, and Office 365 Groups
Hands-on experience with virtualization technology including VMware, AWS, and Azure
Working knowledge of load balancer technologies such as F5 LTM
