ownership and freedom to conceptualize, design and develop various sub-systems and components within the Chassis Engineering organization.
Review and develop processes to achieve world class execution of automotive function, fit & finish.
Take responsibility for the completion and release of component, sub-system and system designs, utilizing a mix of in-house design and supplier engineering.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Byton - Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Design - and in external Supplier groups.
Predictive verification of designs using a wide range of tools, including but not limited to first principles analysis, 1-D modelling and complex numerical methods such as finite element, mold flow and multibody system analysis.
Review and develop design verification plans for systems, subsystems and components.
Organize and participate in the execution of design verification plans with internal and external test resources.
Support overall vehicle development milestones and prototype/production build events.
Skills:
3+ years of experience in chassis design and development;
3000 hours of CATIA experience designing automotive components and subsystem design, demonstrating technical aptitude from concept through series release;
In-depth technical experience with the latest manufacturing technologies and feasibility execution to achieve new, world-class craftsmanship/performance targets;
Self-motivated, with a desire to continuously learn and improve oneself, as well as those around them;
Strong working knowledge of Design for Manufacturing, including familiarity with latest dimensional and tolerancing best practices;
Utilize DFSS methodologies as appropriate during the design, build and validation of sub-system and components;
Global in-plant and/or program and vehicle launch experience

Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
