Job Description:
The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is looking for one senior COBOL programmer to fill Developer 3 contract positions to work on our Unemployment Insurance Tax Unit UI Tax Database Improvements project. This project is needed to convert VSAM data to DB2 and to create/update/change programs, copybooks, JCL, procedures, and documentation affected by the conversion.
Experience in COBOL, Job Control Language (JCL), DB2, Structured Query Language (SQL), Virtual Storage Access Method (VSAM), Customer Information Control System (CICS), TSO, in an IBM Mainframe environment is required. Candidates must have detail-oriented skills and ability to solve complex to advanced computer programming problems. Experience with database conversion from VSAM to DB2 is highly preferred.
Selected candidates will participate in research, analysis, and development of solutions needed to complete this project. Selected candidates will also design, code, and test objects to implement the solution.
An exercise may be conducted at the time of interview.

Other Special Requirements: Security Sensitive Position - fingerprint-based criminal record check is required.
