Our client, a financially stable, consistently growing organization is looking for a Lead Programmer Analyst to join their Information Services team in Brookfield, WI as a full-time employee. You will be responsible for analyzing, documenting, and maintaining the existing portfolio of programs within a COBOL environment and for developing COBOL based programs. In addition, you''ll provide project management and continued assistance to the Senior Programmer Analysts within the IS department. Responsibilities:
Maintain current programs written in COBOL and Integrated Language Environment ( ILE ) COBOL, including, but not limited to, bug fixes, feature enhancements and performance tuning, troubleshooting and debugging issues; maintaining or introducing embedded Structured Query Language ( SQL ) within programs. Some applications are financially significant and are governed by Sarbanes-Oxley controls.
Providing project management and assistance to Senior Programmer Analysts to achieve maximum programming skills and productivity. Oversee the implementation of proper technical solutions.
Performing iSeries journaling and commitment control for database recovery within the iSeries integrated filing system.
Assisting with business and technical specifications. This includes occasional contact with Third Party Administrators ( TPAs ) to review technical specifications and file layouts and to resolve data integrity issues.
Developing programs or applications in COBOL and ILE COBOL as requested. Maintaining programs written in CL, a programming language specific to the IBM i server.
Requirements:
Bachelor''s Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems.
7 years of development experience on an iSeries platform, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
COBOL, IBMi and SQL experience required.
Troubleshooting and debugging experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, accurate proofreading, accurate record keeping maintenance, and detail-oriented skills.
Ability to exercise discretion with confidential information.
