Job Description :
This resource will be managed by the Bureau of Information Technology and will be utilized in the migration of current systems and development of new systems to support various GIS efforts for State Parks. In particular, there is a need to further develop the GIS capabilities in the newly developed Parks Portal, enhance state parks GIS datasets and work with park staff to determine additional GIS efficiencies. The duties of the resource will be largely data-centric focusing on the design and implementation of appropriate database schemas, integration of multiple internal and external GIS systems, documentation of datasets, development of needed map/web services, and processing of GIS data sets to meet project needs. This resource will report directly to the Conservation and Environment Delivery Center GIS Director in BIT and will be expected to work independently on state park GIS projects.

Job Specific Duties:

Migration of existing GIS-enabled databases to new platforms/instances
Setup of replication and ETL processes to sync database systems
GIS Database design and implementation
Development, conversion and processing of GIS data to meet project needs
Metadata/documentation development detailing data sets and systems
Assist in the support and maintenance of existing applications
Continue the development of applications and tools to effectively collect and share state park GIS data assets

Role Description:

Assists in developing standards and direction for systems.
Assists in troubleshooting CADD/GIS system hardware problems and works with the appropriate service and warranty vendors to make the necessary repairs and fixes.
Tracks version upgrades and notifies proper parties of available updates to CADD/GIS Systems software.
Assists with phone and online problem reporting and maintaining problem report records.
Assists with ordering consumable supplies for the CADD/GIS Systems.
Maintains current inventory of all hardware, software, upgrades and fixes for each site.
Maintains configuration charts of current inventory.
Maintains data backups and data archives and provides data retrieval from backup.
Monitors system status and data integrity.
