Responsibilities
Provide though leadership in virtualization and cloud products, solutions and services
Build and maintain confidence of colleagues and customers
Independently conduct small to medium engagements with customers
Work with cross functional teams to design, develop, and implement hybrid cloud solutions
Maintain current knowledge of the industry trends and products/solutions for virtualization, cloud infrastructure, management and automation, network virtualization and software defined storage
Deploy these solutions in a timely and effective manner
Assist in the development of reusable solutions, including definition of tasks, deliverables, and standard estimates
Help to identify and document best practices in developing and deploying solutions, and feed them into our knowledge base for reuse
Design, develop, and implement Infrastructure as a Service capabilities for Iono’s Quick IT hybrid cloud solution. These will include:
Service catalog
Self service portal
Automation and orchestration
Integration components for Active Directory, IP Address Management, etc.
Other capabilities based on the product features and roadmap
Document technical requirements, use cases, design, installation and configuration procedures, test and validation plan for Iono’s Quick IT hybrid cloud platform.
Deploy and validate Iono’s Quick IT configuration and environment build out.
Work closely with product, partners and engineering team to understand how the product requirements will be implemented efficiently in the hybrid cloud platform.
Research and create proof of concepts to implement customer specific use cases to extend Iono’s Quick IT hybrid cloud solution.
Develop skills on relevant industry hybrid cloud technologies that are applicable to Iono’s Quick IT hybrid cloud solution.
Coordinate with software professionals to resolve an issues.
Coordinate with other members of the development team to provide them with any technical guidance.
Training and mentoring interns and juniors.
Requirements
Current VMware certification required (VCP, VCIX, VCAP, or VCDX)
8+ years relevant experience
Practical hands on experience in design and implementation of hybrid cloud solutions using VMware vSphere, vSAN, vRealize Automation, vRealize Orchestrator, vRealize Operations, vRealize Log Insight, vRealize Network Insight, and NSX
Experience with automation and orchestration solutions like vReaize Orchestrator, Puppet, and CHEF highly desirable
At least 3 years experience in customer-facing positions as a professional services consultant or systems engineer, preferably with an virtualization/cloud product company, Internet, “Big 5” consulting, or Service Provider organization
Experience in infrastructure architecture and design of complex distributed systems environments, incorporating availability, manageability, security, performance, and application requirements
Good understanding and hands-on experience with converged and hyper-converged infrastructure from VMware VVD/VCF ready node vendors
Working knowledge of physical and virtual networking including design, setup, configuration, troubleshooting of VMware, Cisco, Dell, or Arista switches and routers
Working knowledge of various network topologies and design implications in Private and Hybrid Cloud
Proven ability to provide productive project planning and project management
Strong practical Linux or Windows systems administration skills
Understanding of computer server architectures, including storage (FC, iSCSI, NFS, RAID), networking, security, and infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP, AD, NTP)
Familiarity and experience with systems management concepts, IT service management processes and standards
Understanding of modern IT production data center and service provider operations
JavaScript, Python, Perl, Python, Windows PowerShell or Linux shell scripting highly desirable
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
Ability to travel about 70 percent of the time
B.S./B.A./M.S. degree or equivalent technical training
