Overview:
Encounters Systems Analyst will be responsible for identifying and documenting requirements for encounters development teams, help with development support and error resolution. The Analyst will be accountable for ensuring that data provided to external vendors and internal stakeholders is accurate, complete, and timely. The Analyst will possess technical expertise in data analytics and be comfortable with performing other types of analysis as needed. Knowledge of Medicare risk adjustment methodologies is a strong plus but not required. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, meticulous and comfortable working in a team''''s or individually.

Responsibilities:
Creates and maintains databases to track business performance.
Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures.
Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e. g. for claims data, provider data utilization data) and provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies.
Creates and publishes periodic reports, as well as any necessary ad hoc reports.
May require taking business issue and devising best way to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools.
This job is focused on complex and varied metrics, making recommendations based on data analysis and providing assistance to staff

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Information Technology, Finance or other analytic discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience is required.
5+ years of experience in managed care or other healthcare environment in an analytical role.
EDI Experience required. Knowledge of 837 and/or NCPDP encounters files
Strong SQL coding and data analysis skills required including ability to troubleshoot stored procedures.
Ability to manipulate large volumes of data is also required.
Prior experience with risk adjustment methodologies and risk revenue financial analytics preferred.
Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills required
