BO Developer – Design Studio Expert
Dallas, TX – Onsite interview Need Local candidate
7 month contract
JOB SUMMARY
Formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Designs, codes, test, debugs, documents, and maintains those programs. Works with users in the support of business applications. Uses professional concepts and company policies and procedures to solve a variety of problems.

* Must already be sufficiently competent in dimensional data modeling to design data warehouses and data marts
* Knowledge of slowly changing dimensions, partitioning, and basic data warehousing concepts
* Ability to help create and map business needs/application requirements to technical solutions
* Development experience must be full Life Cycle experience including business requirements gathering, data sourcing, testing/data reconciliation, and deployment within Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing Architecture. Must have specific Development Life Cycle Methodology experience and have used it in multiple project deliveries
* Business Objects Administration – BO Security Model, Application Server Maintenance/Monitoring, Software Installation
* Extensive experience creating advanced complex reports in Business Objects 4.1 (Web Intelligence), Universes (IDT and UDT) and BI Dashboards by applying strong technical knowledge of features and functions of Business intelligence tools
* Must be an expert in BI Dashboards, Design Studio and Lumira
* Experience of other Business Objects tools such as Dashboard, Explorer, Live Office, etc.
* Basic UNIX shell script experience required
* Experience of working with high data volume and strict performance requirements
* Proficiency using Toad or equivalent developer tools
* Experience troubleshooting issues across different technologies including Business Objects.
* Exceptional debugging skills
* Excellent verbal/written communication and effective interpersonal skills to work with user community
* Possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment, in order to achieve personal and team goals and complete assignments within established time frames
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. Six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
