We have an urgent requirement for BI Technical Lead with our direct client
Position: BI Technical Lead
Duration: 11 months
Location: Montgomery, AL
Responsibilities:
Gathering and assessing business information needs and preparing system requirements. Performs analyses, development, and evaluation of data mining in a data warehouse environment which includes data design, database architecture, metadata and repository creation.
Uses data mining and data analysis tools.
Reviews and validates data loaded into the data warehouse for accuracy.
Interacts with user community to produce reporting requirements.
Provides technical consulting to users of the available data sources and advises users on functional differences and appropriate data usage.
Maintains knowledge of software tools, languages, scripts, and shells that effectively support the data warehouse environment in different operating system environments.
Possesses working knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) and data warehouse front-end tools.
Must have an extensive knowledge of data warehouse and data mart concepts.
Responsible for designing and developing solutions including data modeling, preparing test scripts, developing/conducting tests, planning and implementing data replication, extraction, cleansing, and loading into a data warehouse.
Provides leadership/management of team(s) responsible for developing applications and business intelligence products; data modeling and data warehouse development.
Expectation includes working on concurrent projects.
Skills Required:
Ability to gather and assess business information needs and prepare system requirements.
Knowledge of software tools, languages, scripts, and shells that effectively support the data warehouse environment in different operating system environments.
Communication skills to facilitate interaction with user community to identify and document reporting requirements.
Working knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS), data modeling, data mart concepts, and developing business intelligence solutions using data visualization tools.
Extensive knowledge of data warehouse and data mart concepts.
Working knowledge of Business Intelligence Tools: Microsoft SQL Server environment using SSRS, SSAS-Tabular Model, SSIS, Power BI, Excel (power pivot), Tableau, Power BI Desktop, Visual Studio SSDT, E/R Studio Data Architect.
Skills Preferred:
Experience with legacy data structures and development tools, especially as relates to transitioning from mainframe functions to data warehouse.
Experience Required:
7-10 years of IT work experience to include:
Designing and developing solutions including data modeling
Creating technical specifications
Preparing test scripts
Developing/conducting tests
Planning and implementing data replication
Visual Studio SSDT for developing SSAS,SSIS and SSRS solutions
Power BI Desktop for developing BI visualizations
Extraction, cleansing, and loading into data warehouse using the Microsoft stack
Experience managing teams responsible for developing applications and business intelligence products.
Experience Preferred:
Experience developing applications and business intelligence solutions using HealthCare claims and enrollment data.
Experience as team member and team leader, including coaching team members with less experience/expertise.
Education Required:
Bachelor''s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field.
