Description:
Position requires considerable administrative and technical coordination in a highly complex technical and organizational environment. The resulting systems include extremely complex state of the art enterprise Decision Support Systems.
Responsible for eliciting business requirements from business users and translating them into technical specifications used in the design, development and maintenance of the decision support systems. This will include the development of mapping specifications, report specifications, report layout and test plans.
Act as a primary interface with the Business Partners to elicit and translate business requirements into a business requirements document and technical specifications for the development of the data and metadata structure in the decision support systems.
Collaborate with the Business Intelligence Architect and data modelers in the translation of business requirements into a dimensional data model and related metadata.
Aid in the planning, build and execution of testing for the system. Assist in mentoring other technical staff members in business processes.
Responsible for Documenting Report Specifications, defining report layouts. Maintain the developed data structures, ETL business rules, and associated metadata after initial implementation.
Applies advanced IT concepts to perform highly complex technical functions from multiple IT areas of specialization.
Requirements:
Extensive experience in identifying and documenting business requirements in a data warehouse environment, including use of joint application design facilitation or other requirements gather techniques.
Minimum five years'' experience in data related work with at least three years as a senior systems or business analyst for large, complex Business Intelligence systems.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms and complex business concepts in technical terms.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work on cross-functional teams.
Bachelor''s Degree in Information Systems or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred:
Extensive experience in building enterprise conceptual and logical data models, data profiling, data modeling, data mapping and metadata efforts and data quality initiatives.
Deep knowledge of best practices through relevant experience across data-related disciplines and technologies particularly for enterprise wide data architectures and data warehousing/BI.
Experience with IBM DataStage, DB2 and Cognos.
