Summary:



The Business Intelligence (BI) Sr. Analyst position creates and maintains applications and systems that are efficient, drives for zero errors, maintains data Integrity, meets internal and legal standards, and enhances customer value. This position translates business needs into clear and easy to understand reports. This position is also responsible for data gathering, analysis and reporting for problem prioritization and solving. This position will work directly with various existing databases, architect and implement new databases and design/manage user interfaces.

This position supports the data governance process in the organization, serving as an independent validator of the organization's regulatory and other externally-facing data requirements.



Responsibilities:



Work with stakeholders to determine business requirements, priorities, define key performance indicators (KPI), and develop BI and data management strategy.

Educates and trains stakeholders to use the data as an analytical tool, displaying the information in new forms and content for the purpose of analysis and option exploration.

Develops new data analysis processes, assessing analytics on an ongoing basis. Explores the data and discovers patterns, meaningful relationships, anomalies and trends.

Recommends meaningful metrics and ensures metrics are documented and tracked.

Recommends standards, policies and procedures for the form, structure, and attributes of the BI tools and systems. Creating policies and procedures regarding data structure and governance.

Works on highly complex, cross functional, and enterprise level BI solutions.

Participates in planning process including inception, technical design, development, testing and delivery of BI solutions.

Identifies and provides input to new technology that will have an impact on the enterprise wide BI systems.

Works with the BI and IT Teams to launch new database applications and user interfaces. Oversees the implementation (i.e., testing, issues resolution) of new systems or system modifications.

Designs and delivers end-user training and training materials. Trains users, including executives, on data analytics tools.

Provides guidance, mentoring, and problem solving assistance to other team members. Coaches less-experienced individuals.



Required Experience and abilities:



Able to demonstrate a high level of analytic and problem-solving skills to sift through complex data and critical information.

5 or more years of Business data analysis or related technical experience.

Experience in designing database architecture and user interface applications.

Leading and coaching teams, familiarity with Lean or Agile systems.

Minimum Bachelor's level degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management or specialized training/certification. Or equivalent work experience.

SQL, Excel expert, Oracle forms, data analytic applications e.g. Python.



Preferred Experience and abilities:



Prior work experience in a BI capacity.

Management of technical personnel.

Design, creation and implementation of financial analysis tools.

JAVA, PHP, HTML, Tableau.
