Description:
The Sr. Analyst of ETL Development / Data Warehouse will design, develop, implement and support of client Data Warehouse (PDW) and other Relational databases and Production Support. In this role, the individual will be required to understand the business needs of our users, work with current technical staff and design and implement the appropriate technology solutions within this environment along with understanding and knowledge of the current Merchandising and Operational Hierarchies and resolving any Production related questions and issues.
Responsibilities:
Support the day-to-day functional maintenance of client Data Warehouse.
Design, develop and implement system enhancements that support the business and technical requirements.
These include:
Understanding business requirements, creating design and technical specifications, enhancing data models, developing and testing ETL, performing code reviews, implementing support strategies and writing comprehensive documentation.
Work directly with other internal IT teams to develop/deploy interfaces to and from the data warehouse using various ETL methods. This includes working knowledge of current Metadata management process flow, java, auditing and monitoring requirements.
Work with our BI application team to provide assistance in their development of BI applications on top of the data warehouse.
Participate in on-call responsibilities for the client Data Warehouse environment.
Assist consultants, when required, during implementations.
Production Support:
Monitoring, Troubleshooting and Resolving BI reporting application / ETL process issues and addressing and answering user based questions and/or issues.
Required Skills:
BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience is required;
4+ Years’ experience developing systems within Retail industry
4+ years systems development lifecycle
4+ Years’ experience in Extract, Transform & Load (ETL) Processes
4+ Years’ experience and supporting data warehouses
2+ Years’ experience in Production Support
2+ Years’ experience as an SQL Relational Database Admin a plus
Knowledge of SQL Server 2008/2012 R2 data warehouse environment
Data warehousing warehouse technologies (Oracle, MS SQL Server), data modeling and ETL experience required
Experience in developing mapping and transformations
Strong communication skills both verbal and written are required
Demonstrate analytical, problem-solving skills
Demonstrate ability to learn new technologies quickly
BI Tool experience (ex: IBI Webfocus) a plus Required Experience
