Job title: Business Analyst
Project: SaaS Implementation
Location: Augusta, Maine
Duration: 6-9 months (Strong possibility of extension)

Project Summary:
The Department will be implementing a SaaS application, and is in need of an experienced Business Analyst (BA4 The implementation of this application will be highly visible to the public and high priority to the department. The program’s expectation is this person will be up to speed quickly and will be providing business analysis for the project full-time, working with business on a daily basis to interpret the needs of the program correctly to the vendor as this is an extremely impactful application.
This Business Analyst position will work closely with other project team members to organize requirements for multiple stakeholder groups including external vendor team, business groups, technology teams, and external stakeholders/system users in the implementation of the public facing solution under the pressure to implement successfully and quickly.

Project business analyst 4 role on the project:
This BA in this position will be required to gather business & technical requirements. Requirements include rules/legislation (which may not be public law yet Also, interviews and creating business requirement documentation, providing input to project manager & vendor towards system configuration, developing test criteria and providing quality oversight of the testing process. Preparing and framing questions regarding clarifications of rules through Attorney General, etc.

Role requirements:
Experience working with technical, business and user group stakeholders to translate legislative, technical and user-experience requirements into business terminology and system functionality.
Experience translating rule documentation into system requirements.
Experience developing Business Requirements for IT projects - project initiation document, what the needed achievements will be, and the quality measures.
Experience translating requirements for and interacting with vendors.
Preferably experience with public-facing system project development.
Experience developing Requirements Traceability Matrix - a cross matrix for recording the requirements through each stage of the requirements gathering process.
Strong organization and writing skills. Experienced developing graphic representations of complex business processes.
Excellent communication skills. Diplomatic.
Self-starter, able to join a project and learn concepts and details quickly to help bring it to a successful completion.
Able to take ownership of work assignment, escalating concerns and issues as necessary.
