Business Analyst
Location: Rockville, MD (may be requested to visit CMS for meetings on occasion)
Duration: 6 months to perm
Additional- CMS experience is preferred, but we are open to candidates who have HHS, FDA, or NIH experience
Job Description:
The Business Analyst will serve as a liaison between the business and IT organizations in the development of a new IT solution.
Leads efforts to analyze, design, and document requirements for a new IT solution
Must have experience working in agile model, and support backlog grooming, prioritization, and facilitate sprint
planning/retro meetings
Facilitates meetings and discussion as needed during the project lifecycle
Supports user-centered design activities such as end user focus groups and usability analysis
Responsible for creating/updating documents required as part of an agile system development lifecycle including
user stories, detailed functional specifications, technical design input, process documents (such as SOP's, guidelines,
and validation master plans), etc.
Supports the business by becoming a Subject Matter Expert for the applications and standards
Coordinates with technical development team to ensure complete understanding of functional specifications.
Support business and system requirements functions and are responsible for smooth communication across the
development and state support teams, as well as CMS IT stakeholders and business owners, and other vendors and
stakeholders.
This team generates status updates, maintains JIRA/Confluence, and communicates across the team on all
contractual obligations
Requirements
5 years of relevant experience
Experience acting as the liaison between business and IT organizations
Experience analyzing, designing, and documenting requirements for IT solutions
Strong understanding of Medicaid business, CMS experience preferred
Education:
Education and/or formal training may substitute for experience requirements
Clearance:
Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust
