Role: Business Analyst / Product Analyst
Location: Lake Forest, IL
Duration: Contract
This position is on the Risk and Compliance team within the Global Information Security department. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about learning, passionate about configuring high quality software, works well with a team, and is interested in joining a fast-paced environment as a product analyst to drive our investment to the next level. Primary skills desired include previous experience interacting with customers, deriving and writing requirements, configuration of software based on requirements defined and working with the Risk Management team to implement those requirements.
Responsibilities
Elicit requirements using interviews, analysis, requirements workshops
Interact with user stakeholders to understand and refine requirements throughout implementation
Receive vendor/product training for particular SAAS solution and in turn configure per requirements as defined.
Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: (Functional requirements (Business Requirements Document), iii. Use Cases, GUI, Screen and Interface designs)
Successfully engage in multiple work streams simultaneously
Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow.
Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
Improves the application by studying current competitive offerings and identifying how our application should evolve
Qualifications
Required Knowledge & Expertise
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Business Analyst
Demonstrated success defining and helping launching excellent products
Demonstrated experience with configuring a product specific to business requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor’s degree
Technical background, with experience in web based and mobile platforms
Excellent teamwork skills
Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
Knowledge of Risk / GRC tool a plus
Skills
Strong analytical and product skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
Work independently with users to define concepts and under direction of internal stakeholders
Data-driven and analytical. Innate problem solver. Proactive in finding problems AND arriving at a variety of creative solutions.
Research oriented. Understand the importance of looking at other successful user experiences and failures.
Ability to collaborate and work effectively with remote team
