Title: Business Analyst (with Test/QA experience)

Description:
Key Responsibilities

Document business and functional requirements for members alongside IT/KM.
Update and maintain DMS documentation, including defining the following: Configuration, Security, Settings, and Explanation for setting preferences.
Document test scripts to validate expected functionality of the DMS, its interfaces and data migrated into and out of the DMS.
Document data mapping requirements that will be used to validate migrated data.
Execute test scripts and record issues in the issue tracking system.
Assist with requirements, data correction, and validation of data conversions.
Document computer installation procedures for end-users and department system administrators.

Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate into detailed functional requirements.

Experience
Worked as Business Analyst in full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for software maintenance, development, and implementation projects.
Experience writing and executing test scripts.
Experience with testing business applications.
Experience working with business application users and gathering business requirements.
Project management experience highly desired, but not required.
Experience with Legal documentation or legal technologies is preferred, but not required.
Experience with documenting requirements for and testing Document Management systems is preferred, but not required.

Key Skills:
Document business and functional requirements for Document Management System (DMS) configuration settings and DMS interfaces to other systems by gathering requirements from legal practice team members alongside IT/KM,

Responsibilities

Analyzes business partner''s operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions.
Assists in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology.
Translates high level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications.
Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication.

Daily Tasks Performed

Position will split duties doing mostly technical writing while performing BA roles on some projects as needed.

Works with software developers to incorporate technical documentation and specification into documents.

Works with product experts (SME) to organize and document business functionality of software products *Organizes documentation logically by functional categories.
Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.
Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities. Create and maintain the information architecture documentation by working with senior level architects.
Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guides.
Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications.


Must:
Bachelor''s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience.

The candidate must display the following technical competencies:

Basic knowledge of business requirements and corporate priorities.
Basic ability to gather/refine complex business requirements, recommend or make decisions on business requirements/interdependencies/
Basic ability to develop complex business cases.
Basic ability to create impact analysis to make recommendations.
Basic ability to present and defend complex positions and strategies for business decisions processes and plans.
Basic knowledge of compliance, governance structures and audit principles.
Basic understanding of the business architecture and its relationship to other architectures.

Business Experience

Candidate should have 7-9 years of experience as BA & must have strong communication skill.
US Property & Causality Insurance domain expertise, Added advantage if Certified in Personal and commercial lines.
Good understanding of various function like Quote, Policy, Claims, Billing, Rating, Coverage for multiple Lines of Business.
Experience on writing Report Specification for Quote, Policy, Claims, Billing for various Lines of Business.
Strong experience on providing Source to Target mapping i.e. PAS to reporting, Claims Administration system to Reporting, Billing administration to Reporting.
Strong experience on ACORD XML and Non ACORD sources like delimited, flat, piped files in providing database landing.
Should be capable of understanding report design tool e.g. Report Builder.
Should have strong knowledge on ETL & Data warehousing concepts.
Experience in Business analysis methodology, Excellent requirements analysis, requirement gathering, Business Process Design.
Should have worked on SQL Server Management Studio and capability of writing SQL queries.
