Business Analyst, McLean, VA

Description of specific Duties in a typical workday for this position:

Elicit, analyze, validate, and manage business and system needs and translate them into requirements/user stories for the development and testing team
Facilitate requirements gathering and consensus meetings with stakeholders to help define program requirements
Document, manage and distribute project requirements and meeting minutes from client meetings to the team
Decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional and non-functional user stories/requirements for the team with appropriate level of detail for the intended audience
Document user stories/requirement specifications using standard templates, and language that is clear, concise and easily understandable by all members of the team
Establish successful relationships with both the customer as well as the technical team
Analyze feasibility, and impact to cost, scope, and schedule constraints for large or complex programs
Develop and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs) that capture requirements which will be used for monitoring and reporting test results
Develop SME in the project and business domains to provide training and lead UAT sessions with stakeholders
Provide coordination and communication support to project managers and other key customer stakeholders
User JIRA and Confluence to record user stories and other tasks
Lead user story grooming sessions

Position Requirements:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related scientific or technical discipline.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in systems analysis and design of large information systems programs
At least two (2) years’ experience in information technology
Minimum of five (5) or more years of experience in requirements management, elicitation, analysis or testing in a software development effort and experience with toolsets to support the practice
Direct interaction with external stakeholders
Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
Strong analytical, problem solving, and information comprehension and fast learning skills
Ability to support reviewing of test cases and testing to validate the requirements
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced agile environment with limited supervision
Proven ability to contribute to the development of creative business strategies by offering up unique ideas in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
Proficient in MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, Power Point, and Visio
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust
US residency of 3+ years
