Candidate must provide a writing sample (such as software requirements, use case, or user story) & bring it to interview.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
The Business Analyst will be a Transit Applications Team member supporting the HEAT Software Service Management upgrade.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
(1) meeting with internal customers/users to learn and understand their processes, workflows and business needs;
(2) succinctly writing descriptions of said workflows and business needs and translating them to software requirements;
(3) creating user stories or use cases;
(4) writing and executing unit/functional test cases;
(5) maintaining supporting project documentation;
(6) assisting the upgrade development team;
(7) training users;
(8) other tasks as necessary to move the project forward.
Analyst will be expected to travel to client sites with team members as necessary for these duties.
Candidate will be expected to adhere to core hours; report work accomplished, and finish assigned tasks in a timely manner.
40 hours/week; no overtime.
Minimum Requirements Include:
A Bachelor’s degree in a science, technical or business field; three to five (3+) years’ experience as a business analyst; experience writing software requirements, test cases, documenting technical business needs for either development or users’ needs; experience with manual software testing.
Must have experience working with a variety of people, including successful teamwork.
Must have proven ability to write. Must be able to handle shifting priorities.
Business skills desired include effective communication, analytic abilities, organizational and presentation skills. Preferable: public transit knowledge or interest; experience in a software development or IT setting; CRM experience; exposure to Agile software development.
Additional skills good to have: some level of experience or exposure to SQL and data base concepts.
