Role: Sr Quality Engineer – Big data

Job Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced big data test engineer to be part of our Quality Engineering (QE) team. You will be responsible for developing automated tests for validating the functionality, usability, reliability, performance, scalability and supportability of our big data platform. The Enlighted solution includes sensors, gateways, sensor management platform, Big Data platform and applications for Smart Buildings. You will work in close collaboration with the Software, DevOps and the Product team.
Responsibilities:
Develop test plans, test specifications for the Enlighted Big Data platform that powers various applications for Smart Buildings, using data collected from our game-changing sensors deployed in many Fortune 500 companies
Develop, implement and maintain automated tests and test framework as needed using Java
Perform white box and black box testing
Set up and maintain processes to test a scalable Big Data platform that supports enterprise-class SaaS applications.
Run regression tests and analyze, investigate, document and communicate test results
Measure performance, scalability, and fault tolerance of Enlighted solution components
Report and verify bugs on a timely basis
Collaborate as needed, with other engineers located in different locations to identify new areas of testing and design and implement tests as needed.
Qualifications:
BS in Computer Science or related technical field
5+ years in developing tests and automation for enterprise class products
3+ years of hands-on experience in testing big data platforms with some combination of the following technologies: Kafka, Storm, Cassandra and Spark.
Proven track record of independently running and automating system tests including stress, scale, performance testing
Track record in troubleshooting field issues and analyzing regression failures
Experience in developing test suites using Java
Experience with Selenium, Junit
Good understanding of security issues that impact IoT and Big Data platforms, including experience with Firewall, VPN/IPSec, Authentication, and Vulnerability assessment tools
Detail-oriented and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to read, write and understand Java/Javascript code
Ability to thrive in fast paced startup environment
