Location: SFO, CA
Job Responsibilities:
* The Sr. Engineer position is a hands-on development role responsible for leading the overall architecture, design, and development of customer-facing applications
* Develop Java & Python programs using Spark, Kafka, Hive, Pig, Sqoop REST APIs and JSON on Hortonworks distribution.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor''s Degree in Computer Science or related field and 6+ years experience building scalable e-commerce applications
* 2+ years experience with big data methodologies involving Spark, Kafka, Hive, Sqoop and Pig
* 2+ years of experience on Hortonworks Distribution
* 5+ years of experience with building scalable, high performing and robust Java applications
* 3+ years of experience in implementing Analytics models such as Data Preparation and Data processing
* 5+ years experience developing with web/app containers such as Web Logic, Web Sphere, Apache/Tomcat, Jboss or related skill
* 5+ years experience with advanced scripting skills in at least one of the following: Python, Perl or Shell and willingness to learn new technologies
* Experience with Eclipse or other IDE development tools
* Experience with Continuous Integration and related tools (i.e. Jenkins, Hudson, Maven)
* Experience with Code Quality Governance related tools (Sonar, Gerrit, PMD, FindBugs, Checkstyle, Emma, Cobertura, JIRA, etc)
* Experience with Source Code Management Tools (GitHUB, SVN, CVS, Clearcase)
* Knowledge of standard tools for optimizing and testing code
* Ability to operate effectively and independently in a dynamic, fluid environment

* Directs root cause analysis of critical business and production issues
* Drives the execution of multiple technical plans and projects
* Supports business objectives
* Leads and directs in large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects
* Leads the discovery phase of large projects to develop high level design
* Leads the work of cross-functional groups, including offshore associates, for assigned Engineering projects
* Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
