Job Title: Big Data Architect
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Type: Contract
*Responsibilities:*
- Senior Architect Big Data (Hadoop/Hortonworks background)
- Hands-on technical exceptional experience in Apache Hadoop and
Hortonworks Data Platform
- As a senior architect, will lead and drive the Strategy, Design,
Architecture and adoption of big data through a set of product-centric
system development initiatives.
- Hands-on expertise in various technologies like Map reduce,
Ambari/Yarn/Zookeeper, Hive, Spark, Kafka, Scala, Flume, Sqoop, Hbase etc.
- Expertise in product-based engineering strategy and Big Data Governance
Interact with business and technical stakeholders to understand
requirements, business process, challenges and expectations
- Provide multiple solution options where possible, keeping IT strategy
& trend and help the customer to choose the right solution
- To ensure quality of deliverables to the satisfaction of the customer
- To provide industry best practices to teams to enable them to deliver
best solutions to the customer
- Identify and active contribution to presales to convert opportunities
with customers thus bringing in additional business to the company
- Introduce new solutions/practices with teams to increase the value
delivered to the customers by bringing down costs associated with
technology, infrastructure, people and processes
- Contribute to Organizational knowledgebase thus bringing in
reusability and reducing operational cost
- Define/refine software engineering processes followed within the teams
to achieve excellence in deliverables
- Ensure adherence to software engineering processes defined by both
customer and the company
- To guide/mentor Architects and Tech Leads to enable them to perform
their jobs efficiently
- Define skill sets required and help recruitment team to recruit the
right resources
- Help project managers or CBU Heads in identifying and allocating right
resources considering skill-set and aptitude of the resources
- Explore new technology / solution trends and apply in appropriate
scenarios to deliver value to team, customer and Organization
- Build technology / solution roadmap for a Program / an initiative
*Qualifications:*
- BE / B Tech / MCA with 15+ years of experience, 2+ years of
architectural work in full-lifecycle work.
- Having worked on onsite-offshore model would be desirable.
- Ability to understand Program / initiative objectives, long term plan,
IT Strategies, business requirement, associated business process, IT
strategies of customer
- Ability to visualize holistic picture, forward thinking while
providing appropriate solution & architecture and provide Roadmap
- Ability to assess and recommend suitable solution / product /
technology in line with business expectations
- Ability to assess current customer IT investment, System Landscape,
process and architecture,
- Experience / Awareness of Best practices (Architect, design, etc),
Grip of technology trends, UML, Design Patterns and various SDLC
methodologies
