Job Description: A tier 1 carrier is seeking an experienced hands-on Senior Big Data Analytics Software Developer to design and develop advanced analytics software products, leveraging their unique rich and large-scale device-sourced dataset to deliver unprecedented insights and value to their customers within the Mobile Network, Customer Care & Entertainment Business Units.
Daily Responsibilities:
Develop batch and streaming analytics pipelines
Using object-oriented Scala/Java and Apache Spark clean and transform features, perform aggregations, integrate machine learning models
Participates in all phases of the data analytics development process
Collaborate with the data scientist to identify new areas of research
Design and develop advanced analytics software components and models architected for re-use
Create solutions to real world problems while getting the opportunity to see the results of your work deployed
Work with cross-functional teams, such as Product management, Platform, Operations and Mobile device engineering to elaborate on functional requirements/designs of the mobile wireless analytics modules, based on the product level requirements and designs
Requirements:
8+ years’ experience in professional product software development design and implementation
5+ years programming experience in hands-on object-oriented analysis, design, development and debug using Scala
3+ years of experience building Apache Spark-based solutions using Scala, MLlib, etc.
Experience manipulating big and noisy datasets (e.g. Spark, SQL, Hive), NoSQL databases
Experience developing software utilizing Big Data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, HDFS, Kafka, Zeppelin
Experience creating models utilizing Machine Learning and/or Statistics
Experience of Linux/Unix, SQL, and industry tools; Git, Eclipse, IntelliJ IDE, Jenkins, Maven
Working knowledge of Mobile, Wireless or Multimedia streaming technologies, protocols and architectures a must
Education: BSCS, EE, Mathematics, Physics or equivalent
