This BI Consultant would be conducting an overall BI assessment for client as a whole.
Looking at what the Business end user will need, creating that road map
Industry Standards -there are different schools of thought here
What is the BI assessment currently and where do we need to go
Idea of “ Self-Service Model”
Self train user framework to extract data through different ways
The BI Assessment is for training support services (the candidate will NOT have to evaluate the entire BI .
Industry standards should be clarified as utilizing industry benchmarks to develop the framework for training support to business end user communities
They should have experience of self-service analytics and the support necessary to meet business users needs –this includes required knowledge of tools including: SAS, Cognos,

Seeking to engage a consultant to assess current state and advise upon future state training services provided by the business intelligence unit to the organization. The engagement will result in strategic guidance, recommendations, implementation frameworks, and a roadmap that aligns with industry best practices for the frequency, variety and volume of training services to support the business units.
Assess current state Business Intelligence Department support services and customer/business engagement model
Assess the business intelligence department’s current state support capabilities
Focus area for the current state assessment will be limited to training capabilities and customer training engagement model
Develop questionnaire to send to business stakeholders to identify current state and future desired state and demand expectations
Interview key business stakeholders to gather feedback from stakeholders for needs and preference of training services, materials and mechanisms
Identify service gaps that exist in comparison to interview and questionnaire results

Recommend future state user support strategy and framework
Utilize corporate and industry best practices to determine the proper level of support for critical services
Identify and define training services to be supported by the business intelligence services organization vs training services that should self-supported & funded within the business areas or through vendor partnerships
Identify business intelligence department’s support structure necessary to meet future desired state
Recommend degree and level of content needed to be developed to close gaps
Recommend roadmap and schedule (frequency and duration) of written, self-directed, live, web-based, specialized training or other training material

Advise and recommendation of training support tools
Advise on evaluating tools to support each of the mechanisms mentioned in future state needs (written, self-directed, live, web-based, etc)
Advise on evaluating frequency, depth and duration of training services provided to each of the representative lines of business based on interviews performed.

Establish roadmap to implement suggested changes to meet future state
