Job Description :
Automation specialists have a good knowledge of software testing techniques and deep knowledge in test automation. They know how to automate test cases for GUI systems (like browser applications) and interfaces (API testing)

The Automation Specialists report to the Automation Demand Architect or Automation Delivery Architect and work permanently in test. The availability of an Automation Specialists should be 100% of a fulltime resource. This role needs to have methodological knowledge as well as Tosca knowledge to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.


1.1.3 Tasks of an Automation Specialist
Test case specification
Manual test execution (Specification based and Exploratory)
Central result documentation of the executed test cases
Creation of Modules (XScan and Wizard)
Test automation for GUI applications and API/Interfaces (non-GUI)
Analysis and interpretation of the test results from the automated test executions
Transfer of the found errors into the defect tracking tool
Retest of found and fixed errors
Creation of TQL (Tosca Query Language) queries

Test cases and modules created in a logical structure
TCShell scripts (e.g. backup scripts)
Execution reports

1.1.5 Skill profile
B.S./M.S. in CS or engineering; or equivalent
3+ years professional experience in a software role
Additional experience as a technical consultant is a plus
Strong analytical skills
Likes to be challenged and stays calm under pressure
Test automation using different tools is a plus
Tosca experience is a plus
