Architect, Information Technology (Senior)
Location: Linthicum MD
Rate: Depends on experience (DOE)

Duties:
1. Manages major projects that involve providing professional support services and/or the integration, implementation and transition of large, complex systems.
2. Provides design and development of e-government solutions and is responsible for technical design and implementation of the architecture.
3. Designs, develops and maintains infrastructure and backend applications.
4. Provides expertise on defining the role of broadband and wireless applications.
5. Provides definition of current State architecture blueprints. Provides expertise with web servers, gateways, and application servers and content management systems.
6. Provides experience in web application technologies and middleware solutions.
7. Researches new technologies and products for their applicability to business processes.
8. Must be able to compare various solutions and determine the one which best fits the need.
9. Ensures that development efforts are well planned and in agreement with standards.
Education:
1. A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline. A Master's Degree is preferred.
General Experience:
1. At least 10 years of experience in architecting cloud based multi user environment with expertise in planning, designing, building, and implementing IT application modernization / implementation effort.
2. Must have a strong background in software engineering principles and techniques.
3. At least five (5) years of the required ten (10) years of experience must be in the direct supervision and management of major projects that involve providing professional support services and/or the integration, implementation and transition of large complex system and subsystem architectures.
4. Must have led or been chief architect in major IT implementation efforts.
5. Must demonstrate a broad understanding of client IT environmental issues and solutions and be a recognized expert within the IT industry.
6. Must demonstrate advanced abilities to team and mentor and possess demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills.
7. Information architecture and Product/application roadmap planning
8. Technical architecture including software and hardware sizing and capacity planning
9. Knowledge of applications such as MarkLogic, MongoDB, Cloud, BI, NoSQL, Big Data, EAI and ESB/Workflow based decision systems
Special Qualifications:
Big Data Architect (Two positions)
1. The proposed candidate must have experience working in the database domain with at least 5 years of experience managing all operations of Big Data stack – preferably Cloudera in a Cloud Environment.
2. The individual will work closely with development teams and customers to design, architect, implement, and support big data solutions.
3. The candidate must have Hands-on experience in Hadoop Ecosystem including HDFS, Hive, Yarn, Spark, Storm, Map-Reduce, Pig, Flume, Kafka as well as Working experience with NoSQL Platforms.
4. They should Design proper Hadoop Cluster environments for application and data consumption.
5. Design and implement automation using scripts, must be proficient in scripting.
6. Design and implement replication and backups for mission critical/tier-1 applications.
7. Monitor and troubleshoot jobs, problems and performance issues in Hadoop clusters.
8. Recommend and implement in depth tuning for infrastructure and applications. Understanding of the HDFS file system and its methods of replication.
MDM Architect (Two positions)
1. The proposed candidate must have experience planning, designing, building, and implementing MDM Solution for a large-scale deployment.
2. This individual must have led major IT deployment efforts.
3. The proposed candidate must have prior implementation experience with MDM implementation using NoSQL database.
4. Define/Design MDM solution/architecture.
5. Create the MDM implementation roadmap.
6. Lead the MDM application and technical architecture analysis, design, and implementation, and ensure that the product fulfills the requirements.
7. Define and review to-be Processes and Governance model.
8. Should be able to design and develop for a robust MDM platform that matches and consolidates key data subject areas.
9. This individual must produce MDM solutions meeting technical specifications and business requirements according to the established designs, conducts MDM unit tests and code reviews, participates in MDM design reviews.
10. This individual must also have a strong background in software engineering principles and techniques.
11. The proposed candidate must have prior implementation experience with MDM implementation using Informatica MDM.
MarkLogic Architect (One position)
1. 5 years of MarkLogic (v8 or v9) development & architecture - primary design and development
2. 3 years of MarkLogic Data modeling
3. 3 years of XQuery coding in MarkLogic
4. 5 years of XML technologies (such as XSLT, XPath and XQuery)
5. 5 years experience with semantic and coding queries
6. Working knowledge on Data Governance, Marklogic best practices and design principles
7. Designing and developing code, scripts and data pipelines that leverage structured and unstructured data integrated from multiple sources
8. Installing and configuring Mark Logic software
9. Developing strong and effective working relationships with customers and internally with other consultants and teams.
10. Collaborating with clients to define future MarkLogic based applications
11. Experience with various architectures/technologies including J2EE, JSON, XML, XSLT, SOA/Web Services, SQL, HTML, HTTP
12. Experience with XML and related technologies (XSLT and/or XQuery)
Reporting and Analytics Architect (One position)
1. The proposed candidate must have experience in BI and Data Warehouse.
2. The Candidate should have experience designing BI solutions for data warehouse and/or Big Data environment
3. Must have experience with designing and developing reports and dashboards for web and mobile devices.
4. They must manage the balance of current and future needs in both design and content.
5. At least three (3) years of experience designing BI solutions using Qlikview and QlikSense.
6. Develop a practical roadmap for an enterprise-wide BI reporting and analytics platform.
7. Should define the overall BI data architecture, including ETL processes, ODS, EDW, data marts and data lakes.
8. Recommend appropriate technologies to support the implementation of the BI roadmap. Work with the data architect to insure that logical and physical data models support the analytic needs of the business.
9. Provide BI technical and architectural guidance to projects and teams, ensuring that new initiatives enable effective data reporting.
10. Collaborate with key business users to identify needs and opportunities for improved data management and delivery. Design and build ETL processes.
11. Develop reporting solutions as needed.
12. Provide technical knowledge and business support to the BI team.
13. Ensure effective communication of user requirement.
14. Solid experience developing complex QlikView/Sense data models.
15. Extensive experience with Relational Database systems and data modeling.
16. Advanced knowledge of QlikView/QlikSense platform, including QlikView/QlikSense architecture, technical know-how, performance tuning, extensions
17. Proficient with Qlik NPrinting and experience creating static/canned pixel perfect reports
18. Experience interacting with RESTful APIs and other integration technologies. Mastery of Qlikcharting; set analysis; reusability; leveraging variables and templates and building/deploying section-access security models .
19. Create QlikSense applications from data warehouse, HDFS and NoSQL DB's.
20. Create QlikSense interactive visualizations
21. Ability to write complex front end scripting or expressions.
22. Knowledge on QlikView / Qliksense / nPrinting server architecture and building QVD and QVW/QVF applying business rules and data validations. .
23. Experience with Optimizing Qlikview / Qliksense Applications.
24. Able to develop macros in visual basic for advanced functionality.
25. Experience using statistical software (R, S-Plus, SAS or similar), relational and NoSQL databases and scripting languages (such as Python Ideally R and Python.
26. Familiar with general-purpose machine learning methods, such as neural networks, Bayesian networks, regression, decision trees, etc. Capable of self-teaching new algorithmic methods easily
27. Good knowledge of predictive modeling and simulation, data mining, analysis, forecasting, econometrics and related data science tools and methods
28. Can extract prepare and transform data from various data sources to acquire historical data and outcomes for analysis
29. Candidate will work with various stakeholders, project members and subject matter experts to understand the project, issues and program gaps to develop solutions for our client
30. Provide data-driven decisions based on trends and patterns of behavior
31. Candidate will translate complex business problems, apply advanced techniques, and undertake exploratory data analysis on data sets and present analytical insights through the design and delivery of actionable analytic solutions
32. Profiling and analyzing source system data to determine data relationships, design constructs, consistency and quality to identify data for modeling purposes
