Applications Developer
Location: Hartford, CT
Duration: 6 months with possible contract to hire

You enjoy seeking opportunities to be a technical advocate to influence, develop and or redesign strategic software applications. You are motivated to stay on top of the latest technology trends and look to apply it when building products. A well organized, quick learner, whom enjoys working in a fast paced team environment and takes pride in delivering quality products.
We are currently building out capabilities to transform the way we service Claims, your expertise in working with cloud frameworks using Angular and Node will help you get up to speed quickly. Our business partners are pondering a number of exciting opportunities where technology can be applied to build next generation solutions that exceed customer expectations.
This is a versatile position and your 7+ years of experience and proven track record applying new technologies that solve business challenges in new and creative ways is critical to our success.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, test, develop, deploy, maintain and improve software assets
- Manage priorities, deadlines and deliverables
- Strong communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders
Education, Work Experience and Knowledge:
- BA/BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience
- 7+ years of relevant hands-on software development experience
- A solid understanding of current technology capabilities and a keen interest in staying abreast of emerging technology trends and opportunities
- Experienced in Test Driven Development Methodologies
- Comfortable with Pair Programming
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated to explore new technologies, applications and environments
- Excellent attention to detail
- Self-starter, highly motivated, active team-player
- Excellent collaborative skills
