The VISION Commerce Suite portfolio of unified commerce solutions is designed to serve all retail verticals, in any format and in any geographic location. VISION Commerce Suite helps engage retail shoppers more effectively and supports the management and operational control of the retail enterprise. PCMS solutions are used by 140+ retailers, in more than 57 countries, on over 250,000 selling points.
Due to company growth, PCMS is expanding their technical services group to include an Application Support Engineer. This person will leverage their broad technical knowledge and experience to act as a crucial resource for various PCMS project teams. The engineer shall strive to deliver efficient and effective operation of various PCMS environments and servers (build, application, etc.
Duties:
Responsible for timely delivery of builds of PCMS Vision Beanstore software as well as the smooth operation and maintenance of the servers from which those builds are created.
Examines various error logs and inspects database content from disparate systems for root cause of build failures as well as corrects those failures.
In coordination with project team(s), resolves various issues in PCMS QA environments, implements workarounds with PCMS project team(s), and documents solutions used for future use whenever possible.
Liaises with various PCMS resources when necessary: Enterprise Architects, Development Leads, etc. to troubleshoot issues with builds as the engineer will ultimately be responsible for facilitating the smooth operation of PCMS servers and timely delivery of builds.
Deploys, tests, and troubleshoots Vision Beanstore applications to be run on Websphere or Tomcat application servers.
Documents knowledge and processes for future reference.
Administers Windows and Linux Servers, virtual machines, etc. in PCMS’ lab environment.
Attends and participates in various types of meetings: client meetings, project handoff, showcase, scrums, etc.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field.
3 years of professional experience.

High degree of proficiency and/or mastery in Linux and Windows Server.
Linux+ certification or equivalent preferred.
Proficiency in the following: creating and troubleshooting Linux BASH scripts and Windows batch files, and managing and troubleshooting application server platforms (Websphere and Tomcat
Proficiency in configuring and installing hardware peripherals (ie: printers, scanners, PinPads, etc JPOS experience preferred.
Proficiency with the following: XML, SQL, HTML, modern RDBMS implementations (ie: DB2, Oracle, SQL Server), No-SQL databases (ie: MongoDB), interpreting Java stack traces and other relevant log files to identify and remediate problems.
Experience in professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle (SDLC

Strong technical awareness and the ability to understand the reasoning and implications of technical decisions.
Advanced computer literacy, including all Microsoft Office programs.
Valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Flexibility to travel (up to 20%) and to work at customer sites, when required.
Valid passport or the ability to obtain a valid passport.
