Job Description:
The primary responsibility of the Active Directory Engineer to lead the way in architecting, designing and implementing an AD solution for the Enterprise IDENT environment. This role will also be responsible for maintaining AD in both the production and non-production environment. This role requires occasional night and weekend work to perform necessary patching and maintenance activities so there is no impact to the production system and requires the ability for the candidate to be on call in case of a severity incident.
Job Performance:
Manage Enterprise AD operational and strategic planning, including business requirements, project planning, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.
Provide technology guidance, road maps, principles, standards, and best practices
Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement of both AD and DNS capabilities
Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the departments’ leadership regarding pertinent IT activities.
Architect, design, implement, test and maintain both AD and DNS capabilities for the IDENT Enterprise system
Required Skills / Qualifications:
5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree and/or 3 years’ experience with a Master’s degree.
Management and Configuration of: Active Directory (AD) Attributes, LDAP Queries, PowerShell Scripting to Modify AD Attributes, Group Policy Analysis, GPO Configuration & Item-Level Targeting, Ability to work under pressure; meet strict deadlines
Experience in Active Directory 2003/2008/2012 R2.
Experience with supporting Windows Server 2008/2012 and 2016
Must have extensive experience with all aspects of Active Directory 2008 & 2012 R2
Implementing and maintaining an enterprise level AD infrastructure with multiple domains.
Experience with domain migration of AD objects between domains a plus.
Experience in maintaining an enterprise DNS environment
Experience in AD migrations a big plus.
Experience with Quest Tools.
Experience in QAS and Security Hardening
Experience with InfoBlox devices
PowerShell scripting
Windows Server 2008/R2 and 2012/R2
PowerShell scripting
GPO and User Profile Management
Knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking
Experience with VMware
Install and configure hardware
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Nice to have experience:
Experience with implementation, configuration, customization and maintenance of DNS systems.
Experience reviewing enterprise architecture and defining proactive ways of implementing proactive and innovative ways to ensure mission stability and reporting.
