Position: Accounting Analyst 2
Location: San Jose, CA
Duration: 12+ Months Contract
Description:
The individual will be responsible for multiple aspects of royalty expense accounting, including adherence to royalty expense policies and procedures, royalty expense contract review and set up, royalty expense validation and payments, and the monthly close process. The individual will be a key member of a strategic and critical accounting function within the company working in the Royalty Operations Department.
Major Responsibilities
Partner with the existing functions which support the royalty expense process, resulting in accurate and timely accounting for expense in the financial statements in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Contribute to the activities related to the royalty expense function in order to maintain company''s strong operational and technical competence in expense accounting.
Work collaboratively with the teams outside of accounting including Product Management, Finance Management, Legal, and Business Management.
Correspond with external third party companies regarding contracts and royalty reports.
Manage a large number of monthly/quarterly outbound royalty reports to ensure the proper validation of the royalty reports, the related contracts and calculations, and process payments from within the accounting system.
Identify process and systems related opportunities within the royalty expense function and assist in implementing changes to drive scalability, efficiency, and productivity.
Skills:
3+ years recent experience in similar role ideally with a publicly held software leader doing (USD)1B+
Prior experience with a software company (preferred)
SAP experience (preferred)
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Proven ability to work efficiently and deliver results in a timely manner
Strong communication and collaborative skills
Education:
BS Degree in Accounting/Finance (or equivalent)
