Job Description:
The goal of the MMR initiative is to ensure a comprehensive review of factors leading to maternal deaths in NYS, and to have sufficient information to develop strategies and interventions to decrease the risk of these deaths.
Monitor functionality of the upload of new linked data from Vital Statistics and new hospital records from the Statewide Planning and Research Cooperative System.
Design and implementation of modifications to database and data collection fields.
Maintenance, enhancement, designing of data dictionaries, physical and logical database models, and performance tuning.
Maintain and ensure database integrity.
Generate reports.
Conduct queries as requested.
Candidates should have at least 60 months experience and a majority of the following should apply:

1. 84 months of experience on Access database design and table relationships #of months
2. 84 months of experience in data upload to Access database, creating new tables linked to existing tables #of months
3. 84 months of experience in writing user guides to instruct the end-user on how to navigate the database, gathering requirements from the users and incorporating them into the database. #of months
4. 84 months of experience in data analysis, visualization and presentation #of months
5. 84 months of documented experience in ensuring valid data entry #of months
6. 84 months of programming experience in Visual Basic #of months
7. 84 months of documented experience in SQL queries and macros #of months
8. 84 months of experience of Access interface to ODBC #of months
9. Bachelor’s Degree with concentration in Computer Science #of months
